The Night Before Christmas is written by Clement C. Moore and illustrated by Jim Talbot. The story is about Christmas Eve when Santa Claus came to one house. The man really wanted to see Santa in person.

   The  Tale  of  Peter  Rabbit  by  Beatrix  Potter  and illustrated  by  Cyndy Szekeres.  This  story  is  about  a  bad  little rabbit  that  disobeyed  his  mother.  He  went  into a vegetable patch  when  his  mother  forbids  it.  His  father  was  in  an accident  there  and  was  baked  into  a  pie.  When  he  was  there he  got  into  mischief,  lost  his  shoes  and  his  new  jacket.  Peter than scurries home tries not to get notice by Mr.  McGregor.  He safely made it home and then went right to bed.

He turns a horse into an elephant, and a cart into a brass band. But, he ends up telling his dad the “real” thing he saw, a horse and a wagon.

The Cat That Climbed the Christmas Tree, by Susanne Santoro, is about a cute little kitten named Benny. In the story, it’s Benny’s first Christmas, and this cat is getting into a little Christmas mischief. He climbs the Christmas tree with the goal of reaching the angel who lives at the very top. On the way, he meets a colorful assortment of ornaments, whom he ends up befriending.

The Lion King: Friends in Need

     We read Disney’s The Lion King: Friends in Need by Justine Korman and illustrated by John Kurtz. This story is about Mufasa the lion king. When he was young, he came across a young hornbill named Zazu being cooked by hyenas. When he saves Zazu and scares off the hyenas, he realizes that he has gained a friend and advisor. Is Zazu a friend, or just a winged pest?
